The Tony Awards are staying put on CBS.

The Broadway awards ceremony has inked a new deal to stay on the Skydance-owned network through 2032.

As part of the deal, the Tonys also revealed that the 80th edition of the awards will air live coast-to-coast on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, June 13. Starting in 2021, the show began airing as two parts, with the first, largely made up of creative awards, streaming on Paramount-owned platforms.

The Tonys has aired on CBS for 48 years, since 1978. Still, it was somewhat of a question, under the new leadership of Skydance. The 2025 ceremony, hosted by Cynthia Erivo, and 2026 ceremony, hosted by Pink, both received strong ratings.

“We are thrilled to extend our long-standing partnership with CBS. For the past 48 years, we have collaborated with CBS to bring the best of Broadway to theatre fans all around the world and we look forward to marking the 80th anniversary of the Tony Awards with our best show yet,” American Theatre Wing president and CEO Heather Hitchens and Broadway League president Jason Laks said in a statement. The Tonys are presented by the American Theatre Wing and Broadway League.

“CBS has a celebrated history of supporting the creative arts on television and the Tony Awards are a cornerstone of that past, present and future,” said CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach. “George Cheeks and I are thrilled to extend the network’s 48-year partnership with the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League and showcase the extraordinary talent, unforgettable performances and incomparable energy of Broadway to viewers across the country for years to come.”

The 2027 show will be produced by Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall and Jack Sussman, who took over as producers for the first time in 2026, succeeding longtime producers White Cherry Entertainment, who had leading the show since 2003. Kapoor and will Levine Hall serve as co-showrunners in 2027. Patrick Menton and Rob Paine will co-executive produce, with Menton also serving as head of talent.

A venue for the awards show has not yet been announced. However, the ceremony has typically taken place at Radio City Music Hall.

The Tonys re-upping with CBS comes as fellow high-profile awards shows the Emmys and the Oscars have inked new deals with streaming platforms — Amazon’s Prime Video and YouTube, respectively, leaving their longtime broadcast network homes. Former CBS awards mainstay the Grammys has also moved to ABC, with the music ceremony airing on the Disney network starting in 2027.
