The Bold And The Beautiful’s Bradley Bell is prepping Season 2 of microdrama Hollywood Starlet before the freshman Season has launched.
Hollywood Starlet will launch on aTwist, the microdrama studio and platform founded by Jana Winograde, Susan Rovner and Lloyd Braun. The series is being produced by Bell and his son Oliver, through their Red Flair Entertainment label. The series bows on aTwist in mid-August. Season 1 will comprise 44 episodes of 90-to-120 seconds apiece.
Bradley and Oliver Bell are at the ongoing Monte-Carlo TV Festival where they spoke about their debut microdrama. “We are in pre-production on Season 2 of Hollywood Starlet already, so that IP we’re developing and kind of turning into what we hope to be the first serialized vertical [series],” Oliver Bell said. The cast includes vertical drama stars Bella Mraz, Molly Anderson and Eric Guilmette and he added that most of the talent will be back for Season 2.

The bad news for The Bold And The Beautiful and The Young & The Restless fans is that no talent from those series will cross over to Hollywood Starlet, but Bell said the vertical series will capture the spirit of those shows, in turn swerving some less savory elements in some microdrama.
“I was watching ReelShort and a lot of these Chinese dramas, which I thought were very captivating. But then you’d see some parts that were degrading to women. For me, that was a little offensive.
“I thought we could do an American one where we have powerful women and lovely family stories. I felt like that wasn’t being seen.”
Bell is at the Monte Carlo TV Festival with several of the stars from The Bold And The Beautiful. The team is simultaneously taking part in the Festival and filming for the series, which they have now done several times. Katherine Kelly Lang, Thorsten Kaye, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, Tanner Novlan and Kimberlin Brown are all in town for the shoot and Festival.
