Sandra Hüller, the German actress who earned an Oscar nomination for Anatomy of a Fall and appeared in this year’s Project Hail Mary, is part of the all-star cast of Avengers: Doomsday.

Rumors have swirled around the actress regarding the Marvel movie since her name popped up on the British Stunt Register a couple of weeks ago. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the actress’ involvement. Marvel had no comment.

While much of the plot still remains hidden in the eastern European nation of Latveria, it is known to feature heroes from different timelines that team-up to fight the universe-shattering peril of a sorcerer scientist named Doctor Doom.

The feature, which is deep in post-production as it heads towards a Dec. 18 opening, stars Robert Downey Jr. as Doom and featured the casts of several recent Marvel movies, including Thunderbolts*, Fantastic Four: First Steps, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the Thor movies and the classic X-Men movies. In addition to Downey making a return to the Marvel movies is Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers. (Evans appeared in Deadpool & Wolverine as Johnny Storm.)

Hüller’s role is, naturally, being kept secret although it is being described as a cameo. The rumour mill has her potentially playing Doom’s mother, a witch, or part of select group of hooded enchantresses known as Latverian Witches. Marvel displayed color-coded Latverian robes at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

Anthony and Joe Russo are directing Doomsday.

The UTA-repped Hüller gained Hollywood’s attention with starring turns in both Anatomy of a Fall and Zone of Interest. She had a key role in as the person who recruits Ryan Gosling to save the planet in Project Hail Mary (and memorably sings Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times,” a song she pushed for during karaoke sequence.) She was most recently seen as Tom Cruise’s sister in Digger.
