With four major films in release, critical praise for all of them, and another currently filming Batman on the way, Robert Pattinson is having a very good year and it just got better.
Pattison will be the recipient of the 40th American Cinematheque Award, a milestone celebration taking place on Tuesday February 9, 2027 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
With a career spanning more than two decades, Pattinson has established himself as one of the most distinctive actors of his generation, moving seamlessly between independent cinema and major studio productions.
In 2026, Pattinson’s versatility was spectacularly showcased when he starred in no less than four films, all so vastly different from one another that the only commonality between them was him. From a happily engaged turned spiraling groom opposite Zendaya in A24’s darkly funny The Drama to the playfully villainous Antinous in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster The Odyssey to his critically acclaimed portrayal of journalist Chris Hansen in the psychological thriller, Primetime to a shapeshifting ‘Face Dancer’ assassin in the upcoming Dune: Part Three, Pattinson’s range has been on full display. Pattinson is currently in production on Matt Reeves’s The Batman Part II, the sequel to 2022’s highly successful The Batman.

For four decades, the prestigious American Cinematheque Award has been designed to recognize extraordinary artists whose talent, vision, and contributions have made a lasting impact on cinema. Their passion and filmography not only exemplify excellence in filmmaking but also reflect the cinematic artistry and breadth of American Cinematheque’s programming, which bridges film history to its future and celebrates the theatrical experience. The award has celebrated an impressive roster of filmmakers and performers, including among others Eddie Murphy, Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Jodie Foster, Denzel Washington, Nicole Kidman, George Clooney, and last year Michael B. Jordan who received the honor before going on to win the Best Actor Academy Award.
