Morgan Wallen was arrested and jailed Sunday night in Nashville, according to multiple reports.

Billboard confirmed the arrest on Monday morning via a statement from Wallen’s attorney, Worrick G. Robinson of Worrick Robinson Law.

“At 10:53 p.m. Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities,” read the statement.

The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to Robinson.

Local news station WSMV-TV reported that Wallen’s arrest came after he allegedly threw a chair from the top of Chief’s Bar, which is owned by fellow country music star Eric Church and was celebrating its opening weekend.

Citing the arrest affidavit, the outlet reported that Wallen was six stories up on the roof of the bar, around 10:45 p.m. on Sunday, when witnesses watched him pick up a chair, throw it over the roof and laugh about it. The chair landed three feet from two officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department.

The 30-year-old country star was charged with three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct, which is a misdemeanor, according to the affidavit. He posted a bond of $15,250 and has since been released from jail.

Wallen is currently on his 2024 One Night at a Time tour.

Billboard reports his court date for the incident is May 3, amid scheduled performances at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium on May 2 and 3.

Wallen has made his return to the music scene following the February 2021 video in which he was heard yelling the N-word and other expletives. Wallen checked himself into a rehab facility after the incident and said he had been on “hour 72 of a 72-hour bender.” The singer’s recording contract with Big Loud Records was suspended indefinitely at the time, among other career fallout.

He later returned to the 2022 Billboard Music Awards with a performance, following being banned and made no mention of the incident. He went on to win the award for top country male artist.

Following his return, Wallen has received several major awards show nominations. His sold-out tour, meanwhile, is one of the most anticipated of 2024.
