Musicians and actors have been showing off their Halloween costumes over the weekend, with everyone from Harry Styles and Lily Allen to Janelle Monáe and Zendaya getting involved.
Among the biggest trends this year were tributes to fellow celebrities, with Lizzo and Rita Ora both dressing as Dolly Parton, the country music icon who died in August aged 80.
Lizzo recreated one of Parton’s glamorous 1970s looks, complete with a blonde wig and sparkling yellow outfit, and shared a personal tribute to the late singer, recalling how Parton had offered her support during a difficult period in her career.
“Singing Jolene tonight 4 U @dollyparton,” she wrote on Instagram.
Ora also embraced Parton’s signature blonde hair and country-inspired style while attending a Halloween party in New York on Friday night (October 30).

Styles, meanwhile, marked the return of his ‘Harryween’ tradition with two special concerts at Madison Square Garden.
At the first show on Friday, he initially appeared in an Elvis Presley costume before changing into the outfit he wore for his original X Factor audition in 2010.

He then performed Stevie Wonder‘s ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, the song he sang at his audition aged 16, and jokingly repeated his famous line: “I work in a bakery.” His backing band and dancers also dressed as different versions of Styles from throughout his career.

Allen opted for a more self-deprecating costume, dressing as a Ticketmaster seating map covered in blue dots.
The singer was referencing the term “blue dot fever”, which has been used to describe disappointing ticket sales, following her decision to downsize several venues on the North American leg of her ‘West End Girl’ tour.
Her outfit included a white puffer jacket and bodysuit covered in blue dots representing unsold seats, as well as a thermometer.
“Never beating the allegations. #bluedotfever,” she wrote on Instagram.

Another artist embracing Halloween was Monáe, who continued her reputation for elaborate costumes with several original creations.
For her annual ‘Wondaween’ celebrations in Los Angeles, she transformed into a character called The Amazing Phish Boy, a human-fish hybrid featuring scales, fins and oversized eyes, combined with a vintage circus performer’s outfit.
She also unveiled another character, Mother Creature, a monstrous creation featuring extensive prosthetics and gruesome details.

One of the weekend’s most elaborate looks came from Heidi Klum, who showed up at her annual Halloween party in New York by dressing as an enormous severed hand.
The elaborate costume was modelled on her own left hand, complete with red-painted fingernails, rings, veins and exposed tendons.
Klum’s face was concealed within the giant prosthetic, with bloodied assistants accompanying her arrival at the event. She said the costume had taken around six hours to put on, following months of preparation.
Elsewhere, Keke Palmer and her three-year-old son Leodis recreated the futuristic looks worn by Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson in their 1995 music video for ‘Scream’.
Palmer dressed as Janet while her son became Michael, with the pair sharing photos of their matching black-and-white looks.
“Another memory with mommy and son! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH BUDDY,” Palmer wrote.
Paris Hilton continued her tradition of dressing as Britney Spears, this time recreating the singer’s famous 2001 MTV Video Music Awards performance of ‘I’m A Slave 4 U’, complete with a snake.
Elsewhere, Olivia Rodrigo celebrated Halloween onstage during her ‘Unraveled’ tour in Columbus, Ohio.
The singer appeared dressed as Marie Antoinette, complete with an elaborate period-inspired costume and wig, and also incorporated a skeleton dress and zombie ballerina look into the concert.

Turnstile also got involved, sharing a Halloween photo showing band members wearing pointed elf ears.
The Baltimore hardcore band opted for an assortment of looks, including an Ireland rugby shirt and a pair of pink-patterned jeans, with one member posing shirtless while holding drumsticks.
“HAPPY HALLOWEEEEEEEEEEN!!!” the band wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Wolf Alice paid tribute to the 1987 vampire film The Lost Boys while on tour in Columbus, Ohio. The group embraced the film’s punk-inspired vampire aesthetic, sporting teased hair, leather jackets, theatrical fangs and bloodied make-up.
“Lost boys in Columbus Ohio,” they captioned a series of photographs showing off their transformations.
Yungblud went for a classic vampire look, wearing a black suit and sunglasses with pointed fangs and fake blood dripping from his mouth.
“LOVE BITES.🩸” he wrote on Instagram.
Zendaya recreated Halle Berry‘s outfit from the New York premiere of X-Men in 2000, complete with a patterned bikini top, low-rise trousers and short hairstyle.
Sabrina Carpenter went for a nostalgic film reference, dressing as Penny Pingleton from Hairspray, while Perrie Edwards transformed into Disney villain Cruella de Vil.
