It was a rough day all around for Lane Kiffin and LSU — and one fan got caught on a hot mic really letting the coach have it.

No. 5 Alabama handed the No. 14 Tigers a tough-to-swallow 31-13 loss in Baton Rouge on Saturday.

It was the third loss in Kiffin’s much-hyped first season at LSU after he left Ole Miss before last year’s College Football Playoff.

The Tigers (6-3, 3-3 SEC) likely will not be invited to that dance given their performance this season. Alabama is now 7-2 (5-2 SEC).

The Tigers led 13-10 in the third quarter before managing just a field goal for the remainder of the game.

One fan let the LSU coach know exactly how they felt with the game well out of reach on a first-and-10 at the Alabama 15-yard line with 4:52 to play.

“Hey, Lane, f–k you!” a fan could be heard screaming on a hot mic during the ABC broadcast.

It’s unclear exactly who said it and whether the fan’s allegiance was to LSU or Alabama.

ABC announcers Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit acted as if the outburst never happened as the latter started talking about LSU picking up the blitz.

Kiffin, who showed up to the game flanked by Shaquille O’Neal, Angel Reese, Paul Skenes and Kevin Costner, expressed disappointment in his team’s performance.

“Really disappointing end of the game,” Kiffin said in his postgame press conference. “You know, we take the lead, actually. With all the stuff we did wrong, especially offensively earlier in the game. You know, we take the lead with three minutes left in the third quarter.

“After that, they go down and score, and we play a really bad 18 minutes of football. So, disappointed in that. Really disappointed for our fans. I think at that point of taking the lead, the stadium was ready to help take over.”

Things don’t get easier for LSU as they host No. 7 Texas and Arch Manning next Saturday and then visit No. 13 Tennessee the week after.
