Patrick Wachsberger’s 193 has posted a handful of deals on its Cannes slate.
There are more deals in the works but for now Sun Distribution has secured multiple territories for The Brigands of Rattlecreek in Latin America, Art in Latin America and Spain, and Bitcoin in Latin America, Spain and South Africa; Leone Film Group has taken rights for The Brigands of Rattlecreek in Italy; and DCM has secured rights for Art in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Could these be precursors to output deals? That’s being rumored in the market, at least.
“193 brought an exceptional slate to Cannes this year, and we’re thrilled to be partnering across several of these projects. The combination of ambitious storytelling and world-class talent, with filmmakers ranging from Park Chan-wook to Doug Liman, made this a natural fit for Sun and our territories,” said Ricardo Costianovsky and Tomas Darcyl of Sun Distribution.

“We have a longstanding and strong partnership with Patrick, which we are excited to continue building upon,” added Andrea Leone of Leone Film Group. “There was no question for the children and grandchildren of Sergio Leone that The Brigands of Rattlecreek is a film that we had to distribute. We are proud to bring Park Chan-wook’s visionary western to Italy.”
“DCM is excited to have closed our first deal with 193. Art tells a funny, outrageous, and compelling story of friendship and connection. We are thrilled to bring this exceptional film to audiences across Germany, Austria and Switzerland,” commented Carl Rickmers, Director of Acquisitions at DCM.
As we revealed earlier this week, WB Clockwork took domestic rights to The Brigands of Rattlecreek.
