EXCLUSIVE: Nacelle announced on Wednesday that Jeff Dunham‘s The Cars That Drove Us, its new series hosted by ventriloquist comedian Jeff Dunham, is set to premiere on Discovery Channel Tuesday, March 31 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
The Cars That Drove Us is a family-friendly, eight-episode docuseries where Dunham hits the road alongside ventriloquist dummy pals Bubba J, Peanut, and Walter to explore the unbelievable history, anecdotal stories, and biggest blunders behind some of the most iconic vehicles to ever drive on this planet. Cars began rolling off the assembly line over 100 years ago, and over two billion vehicles later, we all can’t get enough. Taking viewers into his personal garage — home to 130 legendary cars — Dunham reveals the storied history of era-defining rides, from the Corvette Stingray to the ill-fated Vector W8, as told by the engineers, artists, and socket slingers who built them.
We were first to report on the project, produced for Discovery Channel by The Nacelle Company and Dunham’s Red Wire Blue Wire, last January. Dunham exec produces alongside Brian Volk-Weiss, who also directs, along with Cisco Henson, Ian Mallahan, Davina Dobrovech, Robert Hartmann, Matt McNeil, and Steve Reich. Ian Mallahan (Game Face, WWE Next Gen) serves as showrunner.

One of the biggest comics in the world, who holds the Guinness World Record for the most tickets ever sold on a comedy tour, Dunham told us, “Putting together this first season was quite a ride, meeting and learning about so many of the great people who made these iconic vehicles happen, and then discovering amazing facts and nuggets of information about the cars that few people know. Without a doubt, this is a show about automobiles like no other, AND, it will be great fun for just about everyone!”
The comic is represented by Levity Talent and CAA.
