Kate Bush Announces New Compilation Best of The Other Sides

Kate Bush is giving fans another chance to get their hands on rare and hard-to-find tracks from her catalog with Best of The Other Sides, a new collection of B-sides and extra songs that never appeared on any of her albums.

The compilation arrives digitally on September 26th, with the colored vinyl and CD versions landing on October 31st, on the artist’s own Fish People imprint. Pre-sales are ongoing.

The tracks were originally released as part of The Other Sides, Bush’s 2018 rarities box set that quickly sold out and is no longer available.

“We have remastered ‘Experiment IV’ and ‘You Want Alchemy?’, and both include a small edit,” Bush explained on her website about the release. “I felt ‘Experiment IV’ would benefit from a longer intro featuring Alan Murphy’s magnificent guitar. ‘You Want Alchemy?’ also has a small edit that tightens up the outro and we’ve re-eq’d the track. ‘Walk Straight Down the Middle’ has also benefited from being re-eq’d. Hope you enjoy the tweaks!”

While the full tracklist for Best of The Other Sides has yet to be revealed, Bush’s website has shared that the remaining material from The Other Sides will be re-released digitally at a later date.

News of Best of The Other Sides comes as Bush’s 1980 track “Army Dreamers” is reaping the benefits of a TikTok moment, with online streams increasing by nearly 1,300% as a result.

Last year, Bush’s animated anti-war short film, Little Shrew, took the prize for Best Animation at the New York Animation Festival. The short also won multiple awards at the World Film Festival in Cannes, including Best Animation Film, Best Cause-Driven Film, and Best Female Director Short Film.

In late 2024, Bush revealed that she’s planning on making a new album, telling the BBC that she has “lots of ideas” and is “looking forward to getting back into that creative space.”
