An unbelievable showing of support has transpired following Monday’s announcement that L7 bassist Jennifer Finch is battling aggressive brain cancer, with many of the largest donations to her GoFundMe coming from fellow musicians and bands.
As of this posting, the GoFundMe has reached $300,000, double the initial $150,000 goal, which has now been raised to $350,000.
Among the musicians, bands, and associates to donate are Bad Religion guitarist/Epitaph Records founder Brett Gurewitz and his wife Gina ($10,000), Garbage ($8,000), Bikini Kill’s Kathleen Hanna ($5,000), Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament ($5,000), Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong’s wife Adrienne Armstrong ($5,000), Tool’s Maynard James Keenan ($2,500), Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman ($2,500), Korn’s Brian “Head” Welch ($1,000), Fugazi’s Guy Picciotto ($1,000), and more.

Update: An anonymous donor has added a whopping $44,000 contribution, bringing the total over the $350,000 goal.
As mentioned in the initial GoFundMe posting, the money will be used to help Finch with “in-home nursing care, physical and speech therapy, medical equipment, and other essential care.”
In a follow-up post, Finch’s friend Aubree Miller, who organized the GoFundMe, expressed her immense gratitude, writing, “We are absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the support, love and how far this campaign went yesterday. We are all so grateful for the community showing up far and wide to support Jennifer.”
She also singled out Courtney Love, writing, “Special shout out to L7, the band and Courtney Love for their support and love. Without them this wouldn’t t have been possible.”

As she continues to battle brain cancer, Jennifer Finch will not be joining L7 on the Fall 2026 US leg of their “Last Hurrah” farewell tour. With Finch’s blessing and with bassist Tsuzumi Okai filling in, the band will proceed with the outing, which kicks off October 9th in Phoenix, and runs through a November 14th show in Los Angeles (pick up tickets here).
