Carla Well-Knight, 70, is battling an aggressive form of breast cancer, but that hasn’t stopped her from giving back to others at her senior living center in Mesa, Arizona. Known for her generosity, she has helped neighbors by providing spare walkers and wheelchairs from her own home. Her kindness was recently recognized when her caretaker nominated her for AARP’s Wish of a Lifetime program.
As reported by ABC15 Arizona, Carla happens to be a huge fan of heavy music, particularly of bands like Tool, A Perfect Circle, Linkin Park, and her all-time favorite, Nine Inch Nails. As seen in the below news clip, she even has a tattoo of the band’s iconic “NIN” logo.
“I believe that more that you give, the more that you get back, always,” said Carla, whose husband passed away from cancer in recent years.
When it came time for Carla to make her wish, it just so happened that Nine Inch Nails’ “Peel It Back Tour” — their first North American trek in three years — was making a stop in Phoenix on September 16th. She ended up with floor seats for the gig at the Footprint Center, taking in the show just feet from Trent Reznor.
