Dream Theater Announce 14-Disc CD Box Set and Vol. 3 of Vinyl Collection

Dream Theater are rolling out a 14-CD box set containing multiple studio albums, as well as Vol. 3 of their vinyl box set series. Both arrive November 21st via Rhino.

The Studio Albums 1992-2016 houses the band’s 12 albums recorded during that span, spread across 14 compact discs: Images and Words (1992), Awake (1994), Falling into Infinity (1997), Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory (1999), Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence (2002), Train of Thought (2003), Octavarium (2005), Systematic Chaos (2007), Black Clouds & Silver Linings (2009), A Dramatic Turn of Events (2011), Dream Theater (2013), and The Astonishing (2016).

The set can be seen as the all-inclusive CD equivalent of Dream Theater’s vinyl box set series, also spanning the prog metal act’s studio works from 1992 through 2016.

Meanwhile, Vol. 3 of the band’s vinyl series contains Black Clouds & Silver Linings (2009), A Dramatic Turn of Events (2011), Dream Theater (2013), and The Astonishing (2016). Each is pressed on 140-gram black vinyl and housed in a newly designed slipcase.

The 10-LP box set is limited to 2,500 and available exclusively via Rhino’s website, where you can also pre-order the CD box set.

The announcement of the two collections comes as Dream Theater wrap up the final shows of their fall US tour. The band plays in Providence, Rhode Island, on Wednesday, with a final gig on Saturday in Long Island, New York. Get tickets here.
