Courtney Barnett swung by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night to perform her new rocker “Stay In Your Lane.” She was backed by Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa, who also plays on the studio version of the song. Watch it below.
Released earlier this month, “Stay In Your Lane” marks Barnett’s first new single in nearly four years. It follows her third studio album, 2021’s excellent Things Take Time, Take Time, and her surprise 2023 instrumental release, End of the Day,
The singer has been active lately, “road-testing new music at a series of intimate shows,” including gigs at California’s Joshua Tree and New York’s Levon Helm Studios, according to a recent press release. She’s also been hitting the festival circuit, including a performance at Modest Mouse’s inaugural Psychic Salamander Festival and XPoNential Music Festival.
