Anthrax performed their new single “It’s For the Kids” live for the first time on Tuesday as part of their set opening for Iron Maiden in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The song came at the halfway mark of the band’s eight-song setlist, with the rest all being classics from the legendary thrash band’s catalog.
“It’s For the Kids” is Anthrax’s lead single from Anthrax’s long-awaited upcoming studio album Cursum Perficio (due out September 18th), their first new studio LP in 10 years. We named the song our Heavy Song of the Week earlier this month.

Sofia, Bulgaria has special significance as the site of the first-ever “Big 4” show featuring Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, and Metallica, with the bands having played the same stadium in 2010.
Anthrax and Megadeth are currently supporting Iron Maiden as part of the Run For Your Lives world tour (tickets here). The same bill is set to come to North America this summer (pick up tickets here).
