Secondary help appears to be on the way for the Rams.
Los Angeles is “deep in talks” with the Chiefs about a trade for star cornerback Trent McDuffie, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday morning.
A potential deal, Rapoport said, would include the Rams sending one of their first-round picks (No. 29 overall) and additional compensation in exchange for the two-time Super Bowl champion.
Rapoport added the impending swap “should” result in a new longterm contract for the 25-year-old.
A trade to LA would reunite McDuffie with Jimmy Lake, the Rams’ defensive backs coach who helped McDuffie became a star in college at Washington.
