EXCLUSIVE: Sebastian De Souza, the actor freshly signed to co-star opposite Elisabeth Moss in Hulu’s legal thriller Conviction, has inked with Verve.
Written and exec produced by David Shore, the Emmy-winning creator of House and The Good Doctor, Conviction follows a criminal defense attorney whose career-making murder case spirals into blackmail and moral compromise. The show, based on the novel by Jack Jordan, goes into production this summer.
Under wraps for now, De Souza’s role in Conviction marks the latest in a string of premium streaming projects for the English actor, who recently starred in the hit Netflix romantic comedy The Life List opposite Sofia Carson. Directed by Adam Brooks and produced by Liza Chasin, the film held the top spot on Netflix’s film chart for three consecutive weeks following its release last March.
De Souza next stars opposite Andrea Riseborough and Richard E. Grant in The Queen of Fashion, Alex Marx’s debut feature about the life of legendary fashion stylist Isabella Blow. Later this year, he’ll be seen in the revival of Tommy & Tuppence for the BBC and BritBox.

Other credits for De Souza include The Great opposite Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult; Fair Play opposite Phoebe Dynevor and Alden Ehrenreich; and Normal People opposite Daisy Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal. Beyond acting, De Souza is also a writer and producer with multiple projects in development to be announced.
