If you’re reading a daily fantasy football picks article for Week 16, maybe you were just knocked out of the fantasy playoffs. But it can get better, and that’s what this Yahoo GPP lineup is here to try and accomplish. You might’ve been knocked out by Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill, but now you can play them as part of a DFS stack.
Dalvin Cook’s injury was a crushing blow to our otherwise decent lineup in Week 15. We got what I think was our first defensive touchdown all year when the Buccaneers took one in for six. We also had the right sense about O.J. Howard’s usage, although it didn’t pay huge dividends. There’s definitely a case to be made to go back to the Howard well in Week 16 (although that’d have to be on a Saturday slate).
NFL DFS Week 16: Yahoo GPP Lineup Picks
QB Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs @ Bears ($34). The Bears aren’t intimidating enough to worry about when Mahomes is only the sixth-highest priced QB on the slate and just played maybe his best game of the season in a winter wonderland.
RB Saquon Barkley, Giants @ Redskins ($29). Barkley showed off some of his patented agility and power in Week 15, and it led to his biggest fantasy day of the season. We’ll bank on the breakthrough continuing in another nice matchup.
RB Kerryon Johnson, Lions @ Broncos ($15). Johnson (knee) needs to be activated off Injured Reserve for this play to work, but he’s likely to, and if he is, that’s a lot of talent to bet on at a value price. If Johnson remains out, Wes Hills can slot in here.
WR Tyreek Hill, Chiefs @ Bears ($29). No reason not to take the huge-upside stack of Mahomes and Hill, no matter the opponent.
WR Anthony Miller, Bears vs. Chiefs ($16). We’ll stack this game a bit, too, with an upside receiver on the other side who has earned Mitchell Trubisky’s trust. Miller will get plenty of opportunities in this contest.
WR Greg Ward, Eagles vs. Cowboys ($12). Ward’s performance with no Alshon Jeffery (foot) and Nelson Agholor (knee) in Week 15 doesn’t seem fully captured by his price here. If he can repeat even two-thirds of his Week 15 outing he’ll return value.
TE Jacob Hllister, Seahawks vs. Cardinals ($19). Yeah, this is chalk. But it’s also fairly priced chalk at a position where it’s tough to count players outside the top tier. This isn’t guaranteed points, but it’s more guaranteed than we’ll get lower down the board.
FLEX Julio Jones, Falcons vs. Jaguars ($30). Jacksonville made Derek Carr’s receivers look good at times, and none of them are Julio Jones. He’s as reliable as some of the top running backs in terms of finding his way to production nearly every time on the field.
D/ST Indianapolis Colts vs. Panthers ($16). Kyle Allen had NFL RedZone’s Andrew Siciliano begging for Will Grier to play all of Week 15 Sunday. Either of those guys would be just fine as turnovers and sacks waiting to happen against the Indy defense.
