Government offices – Los Angeles city and county, national and state – and courts, libraries and schools are normally closed for Veterans Day.

Here is a sampling of schedules for other services on Nov. 11.

Banks: Closed. However, the New York Stock Exchange is open. The bond market is closed.

Mail: The U.S. Postal Service does not deliver mail or packages and post offices are closed. about.usps.com/newsroom/events; www.usps.com

Transit: Buses and subway services in Los Angeles run on regular schedule (www.metro.net). Metrolink trains run on a regular schedule (www.metrolinktrains.com).

Trash: Pickup is on a regular schedule in Los Angeles (www.lacitysan.org; 800-773-2489). Trash is also picked up on a regular schedule in Burbank (bit.ly/2zmo1LD; 818-238-3800) and Glendale (bit.ly/1Pvpsqa; 818-548-3916).
