ZABERFLUTEN is VAN PLETZEN’s fifth music video from their album, Kak Lekke Vibe, which was released amongst great excitement earlier this year.

In this short film and music video VAN PLETZEN and Schalk Bezuidenhout are at a lekker fish braai, but it doesn’t take long for things to go wrong. Frank Opperman also makes an appearance in his most intimidating role to date.  So much so that VAN PLETZEN was really afraid of him!

Peach van Pletzen got the idea for Zaberfluten from a dream. “I woke up and realized how important it is that people must see this film, but first we must make it! So I phoned PJ Kotze from Bonanza Films who also made Eiland Styl and Goud and he was super keen!”

Now what is Zaberfluten and what does it mean?  You will find the answers in the short film and music video, but here is a quick run-down:

So VAN PLETZEN invites comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout for a fish braai… But he was more like “Sulk Bezuidenhout” instead. I mean, he brought an eggplant to a fish braai. The party pooper had the Po-Po (Frank Opperman) on his speed dial.

Where was Zaberfluten filmed?  The guys honestly don’t remember, but they think maybe in Amsterdam or was it green screen and CGI?

Zaberfluten is possibly Van Pletzen’s magnum opus. It has everything: comedy, pan flutes, suspense, drama, forgiveness and, of course, Zaberfluten!
