Ella Purnell series Sweetpea has been renewed for a second season at Sky/Starz.
Penned and EP’d by Pure writer Kirstie Swain, Sweetpea follows Rhiannon Lewis, who doesn’t make much of an impression – people walk past her in the street without a second glance, she’s continually overlooked for a promotion at work, the guy she likes won’t commit, and her dad is really sick. But when she’s pushed over the edge and loses control, the wallflower is gone, replaced by a young woman capable of anything.
The two broadcasters said today in a statement that season two will see “Rhiannon Lewis return with a vengeance as her killer secret continues to spiral, and she becomes more twisted than ever.”
Sweetpea is produced by See-Saw Films and its Patrick Walters-led label fanboy outfit in association with Sky Studios. NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution handle international sales of the series on behalf of Sky Studios.

I cannot wait for audiences to see what she does next. Stay tuned.” Patrick Walters, Executive Producer See-Saw Films and fanboy added: “Making Sweetpea has been the most exhilarating of rollercoaster rides, and we’re so excited to be partnering again with Sky Studios, and to have Starz back as the show’s US home for Series 2.
