‘Severance’ Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Our Show Times

The wait for Severance Season 2 will end in 2025.

The return to the sinister Lumen Industries now has a release date as well as returning cast members who operate with “severed” personalities outside of Lumen employment and within headquarters. The Apple TV+ show will continue to explore the “work-life balance” experiment, which seems rooted in something dark, in its second installment.

Read on for everything we know about Severance Season 2:

When will Severance Season 2 come out?

The second season of Severance arrives on Friday, January 17. The double strike in Hollywood delayed production on the suspenseful show after it was renewed in April 2022, but before then, Scott appeared on Deadline’s 20 Questions On Deadline Podcast in August 2022 to tease the return to filming.

How many episodes will be in Severance Season 2?

With one episode premiering January 17 followed by one episode weekly through March 21, the episode count for Season 2 clocks in at 10. Season 1 of the thriller series had 9 episodes.

Who is in the Severance Season 2 cast?

Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette will return to their roles.

Season 2 added Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Bob Balaban (The Chair), Merritt Wever (Godless), Alia Shawkat (Search Party), Robby Benson (Beauty and the Beast), Stefano Carannante (Mirabilia), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson (The Tourist) and John Noble (Fringe).

What happened in SeveranceSeason 1?

Mark Scout (Adam Scott) found the “severance” procedure — in which his work-life persona is completely separated from his home-life persona — to be working out just fine until he became suspicious of the activity within his workplace. This is largely thanks to Helly Riggs (Britt Lower) the newest addition to the crew who are severed within Lumen. Mark decided to get the surgery because his wife died, but the end of Season 1 revealed that she was, in fact, still alive in the form of Ms. Casey (Dichen Lachman).

Mark’s neighbor outside of Lumen also happens to be his boss within the company Harmony Cobel (Patricia Arquette). Together, Mark, Helly and their coworkers Dylan George (Zach Cherry) and Irving Bailiff (John Turturro) attempt to pierce the severed barrier to uncover what is truly going on at Lumen, but the company’s consequences for this range in the forms of punishment, and even torture.
