See a mistake turn dire in MILLY’s new video for “Spilling Ink”

Following the release of their debut album, Eternal Ring, in 2022, MILLY wasted no time getting started on their second — twisting their towering, ultra-fuzzy alt-rock into a new level of calibration.

Last month, they shared “Drip From The Fountain,” the first preview from Your Own Becoming, produced by Sonny DiPerri, out June 28 via Dangerbird Records, and now they’ve returned with “Spilling Ink.” The song comes with a video, premiering below, starring Skate Talk Bob, where a drowsy trip to the grocery store turns into a complete disaster upon returning home. Its explosive ending matches the song perfectly, all surging riffs and urgency running against Brendan Dyer’s even-keeled vocals. The album also comes just in time for a summer on the road, opening dates for Fiddlehead and GEL after wrapping a run with Narrow Head earlier this year.

“‘Spilling Ink’ is a song about nostalgia and a tale of things going wrong in a suburban setting,” Dyer exclusively tells AP. “You think your life is making sense and you have it all together, but do you really? You have to accept the stalemate and keep moving forward ’cause it’s really all that you can do. It’s our fastest song to date and a true ripper. It only feels appropriate to have the video showcasing a simple mistake gone totally wrong, ending in flames.”
