The Pennsylvania prison that wily inmate Danelo Cavalcante escaped from is reportedly beefing up security after the embarrassing jailbreak.

Chester County Prison will block access to its roof and shift its guard posts around when inmates are working out in the yard, according to TMZ.

The provisional upgrades — which also include a guard stationed on the roof — are meant to keep other inmates from copycatting Cavalcante, the convicted murderer who fled the lockup on Aug. 31 by crab-walking up two walls.

Once on the roof, the diminutive 5-foot-tall killer dove through barbed wire and ran across the roof in a dash to freedom, TMZ said.

The new barrier barring the route to the roof has been placed behind the razor wire, according to the outlet.

County officials also gave the green light to a proposal that would build a roof over the prison’s exercise yards, TMZ said. And prison officials will review surveillance procedures as well.

When he escaped, Cavalcante had just been sentenced to life for stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death in front of her two young children in 2021.

He spent nearly two weeks on the run in southeastern Pennsylvania, eating stolen watermelon, drinking stream water and hiding in the woods from the hundreds of local, state and federal officers furiously searching for him.

Some of those cops came wildly close to the killer without even knowing it — Cavalcante told authorities after his apprehension that they’d nearly stepped on him three times as he hid in the dense underbrush.

“They were about seven to eight yards away from him,” US Marshal Robert Clark told NewsNation last week.

“We believe he was brutally honest,” Clark continued. “He described things such as hiding his fecal matter under leaves so that we couldn’t detect them.”

Cavalcante told police that his end game was to use a rifle he swiped from a homeowner’s garage to commandeer a car and flee to either Canada or Puerto Rico.

“He said he was going to do that in the next 24 hours,” Clark said. “And that was the reason he kept that firearm. He knew he needed a weapon in order to get a vehicle.”

Authorities finally nabbed the mini killer last Wednesday morning, when a Belgian Malinois K-9 named Yoda sank his teeth into Cavalcante and pinned him to the ground.

It wasn’t the first time Cavalcante took off after allegedly killing someone.

He is suspected of gunning down a friend in 2017 over a dispute about car repair payments back in his Brazilian hometown.

After that killing, he hid out in the Brazillian ranchlands for weeks before making his way north and illegally entering the US.

A preliminary hearing for Cavalcante has been set for Sept. 27, according to court documents, which noted he was denied bail.
