The Calgary Flames are looking to keep a five-game winning streak alive, but will have to do so without Matthew Tkachuk in the lineup for the first time in the 2019-20 season.
About 30 minutes before puck drop in Arizona against the Coyotes on Tuesday, the Flames announced that Tkachuk suffered an upper-body injury that will keep him out of the game. The injury is considered day to day.
Tkachuk briefly left Monday’s 5-4 overtime win over Colorado following a collision with Avalanche defenseman Nikita Zadorov but returned to the ice shortly thereafter. He had a goal and assist in the victory.
