Kinky Robot’s new music video too controversial for SA TV

KINKY ROBOT release their controversial new music video for the single , “NAKED”… a video you’ll only get to see online, as the content is too sensitive for TV play.

Most bands shoot a video to fit the exact flow of lyrics and theme of a song. Kinky Robot has taken the title song to their debut album, “Naked”, and added a twist to the music video.

The central theme of the song where voyeurism gets the better of someone, ‘maybe everything is meant for me, secretly and shamelessly the cat kills curiosity’ from the song’s chorus, is portrayed in this video as the ‘hunter becomes the hunted’. Raw and primitive emotions take over – ‘let your mind strip down if you dare’ (as heard in verse 2).The last thing the criminal expects is to be turned on by the victim. Although it’s never worth it, ‘your skin is worth more in the games we play’ (verse 2), vigilantism is a very hollow victory.

‘We wanted a video that speaks loudly and clearly, a video that is as dark and edgy as the song, this is it! You’re going to love it or hate it, but you won’t be indifferent! That’s the kinda band we are:)’ explains front man, Martin Bester.
