I Saw the TV Glow’s Star-Studded Soundtrack Arrives in Full: Stream

The soundtrack for Jane Schoenbrun’s new coming-of-age horror film I Saw the TV Glow has arrived, with songs by Sloppy Jane (featuring Phoebe Bridgers), Caroline Polachek, Bartees Strange, Jay Som, and more.

First announced in February, the soundtrack and its stacked lineup comes via A24 Music, and is available on a thematically-appropriate pink opaque vinyl. Atmospheric and diverse in style, the songs allude to the film’s emotional depth, and even contribute to the world of its narrative.

In the film, Bridgers and Sloppy Jane’s Haley Dahl appear as themselves, as do Kristina Esfandiari and her band King Woman. Also appearing in the film (albeit, as characters) are Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst, Justice Smith, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Conner O’Malley, and Snail Mail’s Lindsey Jordan (who contributed a bonus track to vinyl editions of the soundtrack).

Polachek’s song, “Starburned and Unkissed” dropped earlier this month as the soundtrack’s lead single. Additionally, Alex G composed the score for the film, which will arrive as an album of its own on May 16th.

I Saw the TV Glow is the latest film from Schoenbrum, who directed 2021’s We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. The plot follows two friends’ complicated lives, and their shared fandom of TV show. According to Schoenbrum, it’s “about — at least for me — a queer experience of kind of looking for glimmers of a magic that I thought couldn’t exist in real life in art and in entertainment.”

The film premiered in select cities on May 3rd and will have a wide release on May 17th. Stream the soundtrack below.
