The nominees for the 2026 Grammy Awards were revealed on Friday, including the finalists for Song of the Year.

Kendrick Lamar and SZA, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter, and ROSÉ and Bruno Mars  were among the nominees, alongside Bad Bunny, Doechii, Kpop Demon Hunters band HUNTR/X, and Billie Eilish.

Song of the Year is intended to honor the actual songwriters and their many lyrical and musical contributions. (Not to be confused with Record of the Year, which is meant for the actual recording process and thus goes to artists, engineers, and producers.) In 2025, Kendrick Lamar took home the award for “Not Like Us,” his zeitgeist-defining diss track against Drake.
