Bears vs. Cowboys presents back-to-back Thursday games for these two teams after they both played on Thanksgiving. Thursday Night Football pricing for DraftKings Showdown contests presents an interesting challenge as Dallas travels to Chicago. In short: There’s no mid-tier options who feel like viable NFL DFS plays.
Sometimes, it at least feels like it’s possible to put together a lineup with six competent offensive options, but with the $4K-$6.5K window not presenting anyone I’m interested in, I’m forced to pay down for Anthony Miller at captain, get four decent offensive players and then settle for a kicker in a game I would prefer not to play a kicker. Everyone will face the same pricing issue, though, so we’ll try to make the best of it.
DraftKings Showdown Picks: Cowboys vs. Bears
Captain (1.5x price, 1.5x points): WR Anthony Miller, Bears ($10,500)
Miller has averaged 11 targets per game across the past three weeks. Even if Taylor Gabriel (concussion) makes it back, Miller’s role in the offense should stay similar as Mitchell Trubisky has grown to trust him in recent weeks. In a slate with unforgiving mid-tier pricing, the best way to fit at least four more solid plays in this lineup is by paying down for Miller here.
FLEX: RB Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys ($11,200)
We had to choose between Dak Prescott and Zeke, and without a ton of exposure to the Dallas passing game, it made more sense to take Elliott. We know he’ll probably get about 20 touches and ideally that into 100-plus yards. In a game the Cowboys are favored in, hopefully he’ll also find paydirt.
FLEX: QB Mitchell Trubisky, Bears ($8,800)
There’s just not enough meat in the mid-level of pricing to avoid both quarterbacks on this slate. It’s not that Trubisky is awesome or in a great spot. But his legs, coupled with the fact that he’ll attempt a decent number of passes by default, creates a good floor-ceiling mix that’s hard to find in this game.
FLEX: WR Michael Gallup, Cowboys ($8,200)
I always find myself playing Gallup over Cooper in these Showdown lineups. It just doesn’t feel like the difference is that much to not take advantage of the price reduction Gallup always has.
FLEX: RB David Montgomery, Bears ($7,600)
He continues to be given the ball as Chicago’s workhorse back. However, this isn’t a particularly favora ble matchup, so if you don’t like Montgomery, you ould pay down for Jason Witten or Javon Wims and pay up elsewhere.
FLEX: K Eddy Pineiro, Bears ($3,600)
There wasn’t enough cash left for Brett Maher, so in slides Pineiro. He has decent leg talent, although who knows in Chicago on a Thursday night how the conditions will be. If you felt confident enough to take a shot on a Bears TE, you could aso try that.
