Cher made her musical return to Saturday Night Live after a 40-year hiatus to help ring in the holidays.

The pop icon took the stage at SNL on December 20th, for the show’s final episode of the year, and performed her holiday anthem, “DJ Play A Christmas Song.” Surrounded by male dancers with faux snow falling in the background, Cher brought the festive cheer before closing the song by holding her fingers up in a heart.

Later, Cher performed the timeless Christmas classic, “Run, Run Rudolph” by Chuck Berry. With Captain Kirk Douglas of The Roots carrying the lead and mirroring Berry’s signature guitar lines, Cher kept the Christmas spirit flowing for everyone in the studio and at home.
