Sotheby’s International Realty’s Holiday Clothing & Food Drive: Donations to be given to Hope of the Valley’s 11th annual Thanksgiving Feast. New Horizons’ Walk on the Horizon 5K Run, Walk and Roll: The annual fundraiser for the San Fernando Valley-based nonprofit that provides services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The 5K run begins, 8:30 a.m.; walk and roll walk-a-thon, 9:40 a.m. Nov. 23 (rescheduled from Oct. 12). The World’s Big Sleep Out – Help the Homeless in Los Angeles area: Live entertainment including comedy, music and bedtime stories in Los Angeles, 4:30 p.m. Dec. 7 to 6 a.m. Dec. 8 (and a video link to London and New York events). Be a Santa to a Senior in Burbank (and other locations): Home Instead Senior Care organizes the event to give a gift to a senior who may be alone during the holidays. Visit participating locations for a Be a Santa to a Senior tree. Choose an ornament with a senior’s first name and gift suggestion. Buy a gift and return the ornament and gift to the original venue. MADE by DWC: Purchase items from the Downtown Women’s Center’s 2019 Home & Gift Collection and help women who are experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. Volunteers of America: Check out ways to donate money to the group that provides services to children and families in need, the homeless, at-risk youth, veterans, those released from prison and those who are trying to overcome addictions.
