One fan’s endlessly entertaining lip sync to Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ wasn’t just a hit on the Jumbotron during a recent Boston Celtics game. It’s become a web sensation, racking up more than four million page views over the past few weeks.
‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ has remained Bon Jovi’s signature song since topping the charts more than a quarter century ago. But you’ve never seen it quite like this.
The clip, taken during what appears to be a commercial break during a basketball game, finds the intrepid performer at first simply enjoying the oft-played song about a working couple’s struggles. Then he spots the camera. Soon, he’s traveling up and down the aisles of the arena, hamming it up every step of the way.
He throws in a few high fives, hugs and kisses some fellow fans and plays a little air guitar. It’s not a perfect performance: He flubs some lines and doesn’t quite fire up a handful of people in the crowd. But nothing stops this dude from rockin’ out.
Then the clip suddenly stops, most likely because the game has resumed. But fortunately for us, the video has been preserved for everyone to enjoy — even those who didn’t have tickets to the game.
