Recently we have been hearing rumors that Apple’s rumored electric car could be arriving as soon as 2024. Given that we’re almost in 2021, this means that in the next 3 years or so, we will be graced with an Apple-made (possibly) self-driving, electric car. This 2024 date has been “confirmed” by several publications, but analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the wait could be longer.

In a report by iMore, they claim that based on a note Kuo had sent to investors, it seems that the oft-accurate analyst believes that Apple’s electric car efforts will not materialize until 2025 at the earliest. This means that for those hoping to see an Apple-made vehicle will have to wait a minimum of four years, if not longer.

The analyst believes that current reports of a 2024 launch are too optimistic as the development schedule of the car is still very much unclear. In fact, he believes that even if things were to progress smoothly, it could even be 2027 or 2028 before the car is announced. This is a very long time to wait, but given that Apple has pretty much zero experience when it comes to developing, let alone manufacturing, a car, it is understandable.

It also makes sense that Apple is moving in this direction. There is a lot of emphasis placed on electric cars these days, so it shouldn’t be surprising that Apple would want to try and get in on the action. Either way, like we said, it seems like there is still quite a lot of waiting to do, so take this with a grain of salt for now.
