Tony winner Lesley Manville has joined the cast of Prime Video romcom series Escorted.
Manville will play Terri, mother of Denny, played by Brett Goldstein. “A charisma bomb cabaret legend, Terri is a force of nature with the voice to match,” reads her character synopsis.
Escorted is produced, written and co-showrun by Goldstein via his overall deal with Warner Bros. Television.
Escorted follows a divorced dad in Manhattan who accidentally becomes a male escort in a show about sexual dynamics, keeping secrets, and whether real intimacy can ever be bought.
Manville is coming off a successful week during which she won a Tony award for playing Mark Strong’s wife/mother in Oedipus.

The Oscar-nominated Phantom Thread star’s recent credits include Apple TV’s Disclaimer, Ryan Murphy’s Grotesquerie and Luca Guadagnino’s Queer.
Goldstein executive produces, writes, and co-showruns Escorted alongside Brian Gallivan (Shrinking, Happy Endings), who also serves as executive producer and co-showrunner. Josh Senior executive produces alongside Molly Mandel, Jamie Lee and Tyson Bidner. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television.
