Tom DeLonge‘s post-Blink-182 life has been consumed with little green men — unidentified flying objects to be exact. And the rocker is now being honored for his research in the field.
DeLonge recently received The OpenMinds.tv 2017 UFO Researcher of the Year Award at the 2017 International UFO Congress and though he was not present, he delivered an acceptance speech on video with an address teasing his biggest work is yet to come.
“There’s a lot that I can’t say, but there’s some that I can,” he said in his video acceptance speech. “And I’m so appreciative that I’ve been acknowledged for this stuff, but I’m not done.”

Both DeLonge and OpenMinds.tv noted that a WikiLeaks dump last year that included emails from DeLonge to Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager John Podesta on the subject of UFOs was a major point of validation for the rocker. Podesta has been a longtime proponent of declassifying government files on the subject and DeLonge’s emails spoke frankly, naming other high-level government officials.
In the time since leaving Blink-182 in 2015, DeLonge has been building a new media company called To The Stars to act as a platform for his otherworldly interests. Last year, he launched a multimedia franchise called Sekret Machines, which will next week release the first book in a series of three detailing his research on UFOs called Sekret Machines: Gods: Volume 1 of Gods Man & War.
“I’m just like you guys…. I read all the same authors as you guys, hundreds of books. I look at all the same sites,” DeLonge’s speech continued. “But I kind of used some of my notoriety to try and do something pretty ambitious, and it worked. I came out and told you guys about a book I was writing called Sekret Machines, and I said a bunch of stuff, that I was working with some people. Well, I think a lot of people doubted it, and they thought it was crazy that this musician would have this kind of access. And then the WikiLeaks thing happened and you guys saw that I’m into some serious shit and I’m making really good progress.”
DeLonge finished his acceptance with a tease of what’s to come and a call-to-action for those watching. While he did not say exactly what’s on the horizon, he say an announcement is on its way in about two months and made it sound like something big.
“I want you all to know in the UFO community that whoever’s passionate about this kind of paradigm-shifting subject matter, I need you all to look really really closely at that announcement and I need you to be a part of it,” he said. “I want you as an educated group of people to read between the lines and look at the history of what I’ve been doing over the past couple years and get a sense for what the hell I’m getting ready to do. If you guys come along for the ride, it’s going to be pretty fantastic.
“I’ll leave you with one thing: My job has only just begun on this subject matter and there’s some big shit planned and I’m excited about it. Just remember whatever happens in the civilian world, it’s game on.”
