New Single: Opposite The Other ‘My Body Moves’

Opposite The Other Release Their Brand New Single ‘My Body Moves’

Fresh off their support tour with The Lumineers, Opposite The Other release their brand new single ‘My Body Moves’.

The follow-up to their single ‘Stutter Love’ and the Coke Studio Season 2 collaboration track ‘Control-Alt-Delete’ with Jimmy Nevis, ‘My Body Moves’ is an introduction to the new music the band have been working on for the past few months and a taste of what to expect from them throughout 2017.

Daniel Burger explains what ‘My Body moves’ is about, saying “On the surface, the song is about the concept of losing all inhibition and dancing through this imperfect life. When looked at a little deeper, this song is actually to a degree questioning how often ‘losing all inhibition’ and ‘dancing’ doesn’t always help us through the truly tough times. Life is tough, it can be a struggle and instead of trying to do it on our own we should perhaps be looking elsewhere for help. The song represents the feeling of just dancing but lyrically reflects on perhaps the alternatives options when seeking peace.”

The band formed in early 2016 and in just a mere 14 months have achieved more than any other local act could dream of. From touring with The Lumineers, appearing in Season 2 of Coke Studio, achieving chart success on radio and gracing some of SA’s biggest festival stages, this is just the beginning for this talented trio.

Drummer Rob Spooner has had an exciting journey so far with his band mates and is ready for what’s to come. “The last 14 months have been a special entrance into the music industry for us. We’ve been really encouraged by the reception of our first three tracks globally on platforms such as Spotify as well as our tracks locally on radio. Getting to play on stages we’ve dreamt of playing for years such as Rocking the Daisies Main Stage, Kirstenbosch Summer Concerts, the Ticketpro Dome with The Lumineers as well as numerous festivals throughout South Africa has been an amazing experience. This year is set to be full of growth with the release of our next single, our EP and our first full South African tour. It’s been a really exciting journey so far and I guess we’re here just feeling incredibly excited to keep building relationships with fans, fellow artists and the many individuals in this exciting industry. We just want to keep moving in the right direction growing momentum.”

‘My Body Moves’ is a catchy Synth-pop hit with major commercial appeal and Sam’s smooth vocal delivery has become a signature sound for Opposite The Other. 14 months together with years of success waiting ahead, Opposite The Other have only just begun.
